Greetings Church!
I’m once again reaching out to keep you updated on our current building and worship status. As of November 19th, Bishop Ough notified the conference that we are now in the “red” zone for the re-gathering plan for churches. This means that all churches within the conference should be allowing staff to work remotely and that all worship should now be held virtually. The Leadership Council of SUMC met last evening and, as hard as this is for all of us, we agree that doing this hard thing is the very best thing for our church family and our neighbors.
We are now entering the season of advent, and we promise to do our very best to help all of you keep the meaning, promise and light of this season in your hearts. There are already plans underway to decorate our beautiful sanctuary so that virtual messages will still convey the warmth and sentiment of the season. People are working on special music contributions, studies, lessons and activities to keep children and youth engaged and so much more! I, along with our church leadership will remain in contact and will continue to pray for and work hard for you. I ask that in turn you continue to pray for our church leaders and each other as we journey through this next phase together.
Be well!
